Vast Landscape Painting

This seventeen foot long oil painting on canvas, depicting a vast beach landscape, found a new home this summer. It was installed in the newly refurbished office foyer of the Sun Realty Building in Avon, NC.

The inspiration for this painting comes from observing the changing weather throughout the year on Hatteras Island. While standing on the beach enjoying the sunshine, Zofia observses a storm building out at sea.

The clouds billow in the distance with dark stormy weather rising from the distant horizon. Experiencing the storm when it comes ashore is also a big part of the environmental experience. Zofia enjoys the ever changing weather and studies the clouds which she later uses for inspirations for her paintings.
