2006 Exhibition: Hatteras Clouds and Skies

"Hatteras Clouds and Skies"
Art Exhibition 2006
January 2006 - December 2006

"My paintings of Hatteras Clouds and Skies are inspired by the natural beauty of the Outer Banks. When walking along the deserted beaches during the off season, I am inspired to capture the feeling of vastness on canvas. By using large rolls of canvas that can be stretched across a wall, I am able to capture the endless landscape with paint."

"I came up with the idea last year to have an Art Exhibition at my Hatteras Island Gallery in conjunction with a theme about Environmental Awareness. It is my wish that everyone who visits my gallery will be inspired to help preserve our precious barrier islands. The whole experience of observing artworks relating to nature can hopefully leave an impression that visitors can take home to keep in mind the importance of preserving our environment."

"Landscapes with clouds, sand dunes and beaches have been my primary subjects for the past year. In the winter months my art gallery becomes my painting studio. I was able to complete several large works in oil on canvas and many smaller cloud paintings. I have decided to continue using my Art Gallery as a painting studio throughout the year, with several works in progress, so that visitors to my gallery may also be inspired to paint."
